Use & Care Instructions for HEVEA Wide Neck Baby Glass Bottles, Nipples, Caps, & Sleeves
EASY USE
HEVEA Wide Neck Baby Bottles are especially easy to use with formula due to their wide rim, but are also suitable for use with breast milk, milk, and water.
Both the nipple and cap attach easily and are leak-proof. Just place over the neck of the bottle, and stretch to attach.
If your bottle has a natural rubber sleeve, these are easy to put on and take off! Turn inside out. Fit over the base of the bottle, pull up and over the bottle, stretching the rubber as needed to fit over the rim, until it falls into place snugly around the bottle.
There are gradations on the feeding bottle, but if more accurate measurements are needed, please use a measuring cup or spoon.
When shaken, the pressure inside the bottle may go up and cause leakage or spraying-up because of the high temperature of the liquid inside.
Depending on your baby’s age and temperature needs, you can warm the contents for the baby by sitting the bottle in hot water or using a bottle warmer (be sure to check manufacturer’s recommendations on heating glass bottles). Afterwards, cool down by placing the baby bottle in a bowl of cool water. Always check the temperature of the liquid for safe levels prior to feeding it to your baby. We do not recommend heating in a microwave as they heat at uneven temperatures and even if you test the milk’s temperature prior to feeding your baby, the temperature might vary and cause scalding.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS - NATURAL RUBBER NIPPLES & CAPS
Sterilize the nipple and cap by placing it in a bowl and submerging it in boiled water for five minutes. Dry, ensuring all water is out of the teat, and store until ready to use again. Since nipples are made from natural materials, do not leave in direct sun for extended periods of time.
When bottle feeding babies up to 3 months, sterilize the nipple after each use with the above method. Once babies are over 3 months, you need only sterilize the nipple in this way after every few uses.
Be sure to keep nipples rinsed with warm water and dried in between uses.
For hygienic and safety purposes, nipples should always be replaced after 6-8 weeks of use. Always check the nipple for tear and wear by pulling the nipple in all directions. Replace if any wear or tear is evident. Replacement natural rubber nipples in slow and medium flow can also be purchased and used on all HEVEA Standard Neck Bottles.
Used nipples are compostable and will biodegrade naturally.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS - NATURAL RUBBER SLEEVE
For the sleeves, simply clean in warm soapy water, rinse, and let dry.
Keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Used sleeves are compostable and will biodegrade naturally.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS - GLASS BABY BOTTLE
Sterilize the bottle by boiling in a pot on the stove for 5 minutes. Be sure they are completely covered by water. Set out to cool and dry on a clean cloth.
Alternatively, you can sterilize by washing in sterilizing solution or by using a bottle sterilizing machine - check directions of the manufacturer in regards to use with glass bottles. Do not boil in a pressure cooker or in a microwave.
When bottle feeding babies up to 3 months, disinfect the feeding bottle after each use with the above methods. Once babies are over 3 months, you need only sterilize bottles with this method on a less regular basis, and at this time, you can also wash using warm water in your sink or via dishwasher (place on top rack).
FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY AND HEALTH WARNING!
Borosilicate glass is stronger than normal glass and should withstand most drops, but it still can break. Check the bottle and accessories before each use and replace it should you find it broken or cracked. Additionally, always check the nipple for wear and tear - by pulling the nipple in all directions. For hygienic and safety purposes, nipples should always be replaced after 6-8 weeks of use, which is also the safety standard recommendations.
HEVEA bottles are thermo-resistant and can be boiled. Always ensure the bottle is cooled to appropriate levels before giving to your baby. We do not recommend freezing our bottles.
Always use this product with adult supervision. Do not leave your baby alone to bottle feed as it could present hazards. Accidents have occurred when babies have been left alone with drinking equipment due to the baby falling or if the product has disassembled.
Attention: Keep all components not in use out of the reach of children (feeding teat, or sealing disc. might be swallowed and are choking hazards.
Never use feeding teats as a soother. Be aware that when teething, babies can tear the nipples if allowed to chew on them. Tooth decay in young children can occur even when unsweetened fluids are used. This can occur if the baby is allowed to use the bottle for prolonged periods through the day and particularly through the night, when saliva flow is reduced.
Prepare baby food just as recommended by the producer. Always check food temperature before feeding.
Heating in a microwave oven may produce localized high temperatures, so it is recommended not to do so. If so you do against recommendations, always stir heated food to ensure even heat distribution and test the temperature before serving.

Use & Care Instructions for HEVEA Standard Neck Baby Glass Bottles & Nipples
EASY USE
HEVEA bottles are easy to assemble and are leak-free! To assemble, place the natural rubber nipple through the bottom of the screw cap and pull until it sits snugly up against the cap. Screw the screw cap to the top of the bottle and tighten securely, do not squeeze the nipple valve too much after doing so as this regulates the air in the bottle, minimizing the chances of colic. The dust cover can be easily attached to the screw cap by pushing down.
The bottle is suitable for use with breast milk, formula, milk, and water. There are gradations on the feeding bottle, but if more accurate measurements are needed, please use a measuring cup or spoon.

Use & Care Instructions for HEVEA Natural Rubber Nipple Shields
EASY CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Sterilize the nipple shield by placing it in a bowl and submerging it in boiled water for five minutes.
Dry, ensuring all water is out of the teat, and store until ready to use again.
Since nipple shields are made from natural materials, do not leave in direct sun for extended periods of time.
You will know it is time to dispose of the product when the material becomes sticky. Please compost.
HOW TO KNOW IF THE NIPPLE SHIELDS WILL FIT PRIOR TO PURCHASE
HEVEA nipple shields are considered medium in size (ø 24 mm) and it is important to know your measurements before ordering to ensure we are the right fit for you!
TO MEASURE:
Using a ruler or measuring tape, measure the width of each of your nipples at their base, excluding the areola (the darker area around the nipple). Measure both nipples as they can be different sizes. Now add approximately 2-4 mm. If you arrive at 24 mm, our shields should be a great fit!
TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL USE
Here are some tips for making the nipple shield more comfortable when using:
- Express a few drops of your breastmilk onto the inside of the nipple shield. This will help prevent chafing and improve the seal that the nipple shield makes with your breast. Put some breastmilk on the top of the shield near the hole to encourage your baby to attach
-
Place the nipple shield centrally over the nipple to help draw some of the nipple and areola into the shield
- Hold the nipple shield in place with your fingers on the outside edges
- There should be a small space between the end of your nipple and the end of the nipple shield - if your nipple touches the end of the nipple shield, then unfortunately the nipple shield is too small and the baby can bite you and not suck properly
- Point the tip of the nipple shield at your baby's nose and encourage your baby to open its mouth wide. As the baby attaches, the nipple shield can be directed towards the roof of your baby’s mouth
- Once the baby is attached, look for gentle jaw movement and listen for swallowing
- Extra tip: Try massaging coconut oil on your nipples after breastfeeding to additionally relieve chaffing and soreness - all natural for both you and your baby.
COLOUR CHANGING
Since our products are made out of natural materials and colouring dyes, they may change colour during their use (darken for instance) - this is totally natural and it is still ok to use a product that's colour is changing.

FOR A DEEPER CLEAN OF YOUR HEVEA BATH MAT
If you feel that your bath mat needs an occasional deeper clean, try this natural cleaning solution using white vinegar!
Vinegar is a very effective cleaner and is a harmless natural cleaner. It should be your first choice for cleaning off unwanted mould and preventing any 'unwanted additives' or other dirt or bacteria building up on your child's bath toys or bath mat. The acid in the vinegar will naturally dissolve most of the mould, bacterial, etc. You do not need to use soap.
Mix one part white vinegar with two parts warm water. Submerge the bath mat completely for one hour, or apply the solution with a sponge and let sit for an hour. Rinse thoroughly and hang to dry.
FOR A DEEPER CLEAN OF YOUR BATH TUB
You should always remove your bath mat from your tub or shower floor after each use, hanging it to dry. If you do leave any bath mat in place for extended periods of time, there is a likelihood that it could stain your tub. For a natural approach to removing stains from your bathtub, you can use common household items that are effective and environmentally friendly. Here are a few methods you can try:
- Baking Soda and Vinegar
Make a Paste: Mix baking soda with a small amount of water to create a thick paste.
Apply the Paste: Spread the paste over the stained areas.
Add Vinegar: After the paste is applied, pour white vinegar over it. The mixture will fizz and bubble, helping to lift the stains.
Scrub: Use a soft brush or sponge to gently scrub the area.
Rinse: Rinse the bathtub thoroughly with water.
- Lemon and Salt
Prepare Mixture: Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle salt on one of the cut sides.
Scrub: Use the lemon half as a scrubber, rubbing the salted side over the stains.
Let Sit: Allow the lemon juice and salt to sit on the stains for a few minutes.
Rinse: Rinse the area clean with water.
- Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda
Create a Paste: Mix baking soda with hydrogen peroxide to form a paste.
Apply: Apply this paste directly to the stains.
Wait: Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
Scrub and Rinse: Scrub gently with a soft sponge and rinse well with water.
These natural methods are safe for most types of bathtubs and are effective at removing stains without the need for harsh chemicals. However, for very persistent stains, repeated applications may be necessary. Always make sure to rinse the tub thoroughly after cleaning to remove any residue.

FAQ for LOOP Menstrual Cups:
HOW DO I INSERT A MENSTRUAL CUP?
Since HEVEA menstrual cups are made from 100% natural rubber, they are soft, and designed for easy folding, therefore they should work with any prefered fold. Please visit our YouTube playlist for some great videos giving advice on inserting and folding your cup here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8xyYG6KB3VsKWpM2VxnChzUZ1hQ3cVIo&si=7b1Btw4OtqzGFWVy
CAN I USE LUBRICANT ON MY CUP?
We recommend just using water as your lubricant, but water-based natural lubricants are also fine to use.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN THE CUP IS INSERTED CORRECTLY?
When inserting, you will most likely feel the loop cup unfold like a gentle 'pop', but other then that you should feel it at all. You can also use your clean finger to slightly adjust if you do feel any kind of discomfort from the loop cup. If you experience spot bleeding, this is a sure indication that the cup is not placed correctly. If it doesn't feel comfortable, try rotating it or adjusting it slightly, or remove and test inserting it with different fold techniques. And don’t forget - lubricating it with water will help as well!
HOW LONG CAN I WEAR MY CUP?
While the cup can be worn for up to 12 hours at at time, to start with when first using your cup(s), you should check the cup every 3-4 hours (particularly on the second day of your period flow can heavier). Soon enough you will get an idea of what cup size works with the days of your flow and for how long. Once you know your cup and how it meshes with your body and flow, you won’t look back! Another reason would be if your cup is not placed correctly once inserted. The softness of natural rubber means that you should hardly be able to feel your cup when inserted correctly. If it doesn't feel comfortable, try rotating it or adjusting it slightly, or remove and test inserting it with different fold techniques. And don’t forget - lubricating it with water will help as well!
CAN I SLEEP WITH THE CUP IN?
Definitely! It is one of the great benefits of using a menstrual cup. Depending on what size of cup (size 1, 2, or 3) and heaviness of your flow, you'll want to test the cup the first few nights by waking up and checking it after 3-4 hours. Once you know your cup and how it meshes with your body and flow, you won’t look back!
CAN I WEAR A CUP UP I USE AN IUD?
Yes, that is possible, but you should be more careful when removing it. Make sure to break the seal by gently pressing it with your fingers. If you are unsure if it is a good fit for you, consult your doctor before start using the LOOP Cup.
I HAVE A TILTED CERVIX - CAN I USE YOUR CUPS?
You can! In fact some of us on the team here at HEVEA have tilted cervix's ourselves and find our cup very comfortable to use - in all sizes no less! It might just take a bit more trial for you - practice with your cup prior to your period and read our tips above about how to keep adjusting it until it feels like the perfect fit for you!
CAN I HAVE SEX WHEN WEARING A CUP?
While there is no physical danger associated with having sexual intercourse while using a loop cup, we do not recommend this as the cup will be interfering with the physical act and wil likely be unfomfortable. It does not protect you from STDs or pregnancy.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO DISPOSE OF THE CUP?
Always check your LOOP Cup for wear and tear by gently pulling on the loop and inspecting the rubber for any cracks or tears. Additional signs would be stickiness, or a white powder residue or flaking appearing on the cup. Once you see any of these signs, it is time to replace your LOOP Menstrual Cup and dispose of it in the compost (our products are biodegradable, so if you don't have a compost, you can dispose of in a food waste bin).
Note that since our products are made out of natural materials and colouring dyes, they may change colour during their use (darken for instance) - this is natural and it is still ok to use a cup that's colour is changing.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE CUP TO CHOOSE?
We recommend matching your cup to your flow and how long you will need to go until you can empty it. You can keep your cup safetly inserted for up to 12 hours, but if you have a heavy flow, you might need to change it more often. Getting to know your flow and the cups that are best for you throughout your cycle is part of the journey. Know that our cup sizes have different capacities and so we recommend switching sizes throughout your cycle - for instance:
Our LOOP Menstrual Cup, Size 1 captures up to 18 ml = 2 tampons
Our LOOP Menstrual Cup, Size 2 captures up to 25 ml = 3 tampons
Our LOOP Menstrual Cup, Size 3 captures 30 ml = 4 tampons
While all of our sizes should work with any sized cervix, you might want to start with a Size 1 if you are a young teen and trying menstrual cups for the first time. And, the good news is that since the LOOP Menstrual Cup is made from 100% natural rubber, it is super soft and malleable - so in our experience, we find that it will form to your cervix so comfortably no matter what size you try!
I HAVE NEVER USED A LOOP CUP BEFORE - ANY ADVICE?
Using a menstrual cup for the first time can be intimidating! For first-time users, we recommend giving it a test run when you are not having your period. And talk to your friends, online communities, and family - the use of menstrual cups is becoming more and more common and they’ll have great tips!
The softness of natural rubber means that you should hardly be able to feel your cup when inserted correctly. If it doesn't feel comfortable, try rotating it or adjusting it slightly, or remove and test inserting it with different fold techniques. And don’t forget - lubricating it with water will help as well!
You can use the cup for up to 12 hours depending on your flow. It will take a few uses to get an idea of your flow and how often you need to change your cup, etc.
Once you know your cup and how it meshes with your body and flow, you won’t look back!
